Royals Give Up; Win 3rd Straight; Fall 7 Back

The Royals seem to believe they can no longer catch the Nats. Falling seven games back with their third straight victory, they have a better chance of moving up to .400 than they do of catching the streaking Nats. The race now is for the second, third, and fourth draft picks next year after the Nats make Bryce Harper the highest paid draftee in history.

Editor’s Note: Today we dropped Cleveland, Arizona, and Cincinnati from the standings. If the Nats were to play .500 ball the rest of the way, those teams would still have to lose more games than they have left to catch them.
